Day 59 - Miami Beach – Boats, Boats and More (HUGE) Boats!

The day started on the chilly side but warmed up nicely into the mid-70’s under a cloudless sky.  It was back to the boat show, starting with a quick trip back to the Convention Center and then on to the Brokered Boats in Indian Creek along Collins Avenue.  To get to the Convention Center, we walked to Washington Street and hopped the South Beach Local Bus, which dropped us off across the street.  This is a slick way to travel up and down South Beach as Washington is only a few blocks from the beach and it costs only a quarter to ride.

Inside the Convention Center, we revisited a few booths and went by a few we had missed a few days before.  One of our favorite vendors is Dominique, who we have dubbed “the Shirt Lady”.  Dominique and her husband Jerry personalize clothing by embroidering it with names, boats, cars, or whatever you want.  They also do electronics work, lights and lighted signage.  We have ordered many shirts and hats over the years with our boats and boat names.  For more information, you can find Dominique, Jerry and Josh HERE.

On to the Brokered Boat Show via the show shuttle bus.  A mile or more of both new and used boats, crafted by manufacturers from all over the world present an amazing sight.  There is row after row of boats in the 80 – 100+ foot range as well as some in the 30 – 50 foot range.  We went aboard the Sabre’s and Tiara’s (of course, since we have one).  Tiara was premiering its 50 Coupe that was very impressive. Check it out HERE.

We rode the shuttle bus back to the Convention Center and walked a few blocks to Lincoln Road, a street filled with retail and restaurants.  We purchased a few groceries at the small vegetable and fruit market.  From there we continued walking and decided to eat at Yuca, a Cuban American restaurant, whose name stands for Young Urban Cuban American.  I had tuna tacos and Captain Randy had a crab cake sandwich, both of which were delicious.

We rode the South Beach Local Bus back to the marina for a quiet evening on the boat with more Olympics.
