Day 49 - Key West - Happy Anniversary and Those Crazy Cats!

Randy and I celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary on New Years Day 2014.  We had Bloody Mary’s and BLTs to celebrate.  After puttering on the boat we went to the pool as it was sunny and warm.  The Galleon Resort also has a small beach area and we were going to swim in the ocean but decided it was too cold.  We swam in the very warm pool and enjoyed the hot tub instead.

Later we walked over to Mallory Square and watched the cat show again.  Dominique, the cat man, has been doing this show for years and years – we first saw it in the mid 1990s.  There were a few locals in the crowd that said the same thing Randy and I had been thinking:  the cat show used to be about 75% cat tricks and 25% cat man being crazy.  Now it is reversed, 25% cat tricks and 75% cat man craziness.  It is still entertaining and I bought the DVD.  We got Mojitos again, but it was a different bartender and they were not quite as good as the ones we had previously.  We also watched an acrobat jump though a hoop that a man held over a girl’s back as she was leaning over a bike (you have to see it to really understand it).  This guy was 10% show and 90% asking for tips.

 The sunset itself was phenomenal!

For our anniversary dinner we went to A&B Lobster House and had, what else, lobster.  This is truly a fine dining establishment that you can go to in shorts and feel very comfortable.  Both the food and service was excellent.  If 2014 turns out as good as this day, we are in for a fantastic year!
