Day 56 - Chicago to Miami – Hola Miami!

We left the “polar vortex” via a 5:40am flight to Miami to continue our journey.  The plane arrived on time to the end of a rain shower and temperatures around 70 degrees.  Yes!  The weather cleared up and got a little warmer during the day.  Our good friends from Homestead, Chuck and Pam Schumacher met us at the airport and we went directly to Sea Isle Marina for the Miami Boat Show.  Captain Randy and I have been coming to the boat show, which takes place in 4 locations, for about 10 years.  We hopped on a bus to the Convention Center on Miami Beach and are joined by our friends Dan and Ellen Downes about an hour later.

This is a great place to see what is new, ask questions of the vendors, and purchase anything you want related to boating.  The show also offers very good people watching, as reported by Ellen.

After the show, we went to Mike’s Irish Pub in the Venetia building, right next to Sea Isle at the Marriott.  Mike’s is a casual sports bar and we were glad to sit and relax after our early morning and a full day of walking.  Chuck and Pam dropped us off at our boat, which we had left at Herbert Hoover Marina in Homestead.  We quickly unpacked and fell into bed, exhausted but happy – and WARM!
